About: Daisy Hill Hospital / Female Medical

(as a relative),

I have an elderly relative on the Female Medical Ward in Daisy Hill Hospital.

Due to Covid restrictions I realise visiting is restricted.

However trying to get a telephone call answered can take hours of trying.

I think it would be appropriate for someone to be appointed to just deal with patients enquiries.

It can be very stressful and worrying when you cannot get your call answered about a very I'll relative.

I am sorry to hear of the difficulty you have experienced in attempting to gain contact with the Female Medical Ward and would like to apologise for any stress and worry this has caused.

If it was possible to contact the ward through 02837562720 and request to speak with a Clinical Sister they are expecting your call and will be happy to assist in any way possible.

Within the Southern Health and Social Care Trust we also have a virtual visiting service which will be happy to assist in facilitating a virtual visit with your loved one. I have attached there contact information below if you wish to avail of this service. Image title

Unfortunately at this time we are unable to facilitate a member of staff in each clinical area to manage patient enquires and the staff present within each ward endeavour to answer all calls in a timely manner. Again I apologies this was not your experience and hopefully the information provided within this response will resolve your highlighted concerns.
