Locum doctor doing clinic on a Sunday to reduce waiting times. I have very complex serious health conditions . Referred by GP for an expert opinion. This expert opinion was one which the doctor in question searched on Ayrshire and Arran NHS board for patient leaflets to read through information. I could do that myself . I do expect an expert opinion not to need to refer to Google. By all means recommend sites for further information if I wished it .
I have come out this consultation disheartened and no further forward . I have many non specific symptoms but felt I was not listened to and no further forward with my concerns . I feel they were totally disinterested. Issues raised , advised might be a condition and was left at that . No follow up or advice what to do if situation changes . When I asked questions as to medication I was taking for other conditions could mask blood results . Told it might do. I feel they just didn’t know . How does that help a patient , much better to be honest . The body system is such a complex thing . One part doesn’t work without another. Unfortunately, I feel that some medical practitioners in specific fields do not appreciate this . Have thought highly of Hairmyers on previous visits but on this occasion it was not the case. I’d much rather have waited longer than see someone that I feel was passing through and doesn’t seem to care or is interested . I’m sure they got paid well for today to look up information for patients via google. A total waste.
