"Bad Experience"

About: University Hospital Of North Tees

I have had several investigations over the last 12 months and have been impressed. This time, with a CT Angiogram in the xray dept I was not impressed. I was seen an hour after my appointment time, which ok can happen, but I was given two contradictory reasons why the delay. Red flag! While being prepared for CT scan, nurses were "processing" me jointly, speaking at the same time, firing questions at me, asking me to sign form while lying flat. One even asked me to do a practice breathing exercise to see if I understood what was required for the scan. I passed the test apparently. Then the other operative asked me to do the same exercise two minutes later having already witnessed my first "test". Why? Ok, after several runs in and out of the scanner I was left in silence for almost 15 mins lying on the bed with what felt like a brick under my head. Why? I was then disconnected and got dressed and was then told to wait while they monitored any effects of the dye in my system. I was given a coffee and biscuits. On two previous CT scans I waited ten mins before being checked on and having canula removed and allowed to go home. I sat for over 30 mins and no one checked on me. I knocked on office door and asked if I'd been forgotten. Office operative said she'd tell "one of the girls". An operative appeared within 40 seconds. I said I only wanted to know how long I was supposed to wait. Was it 10 mins, 30 mins, an hour? Nobody said. I asked light heartedly "Did you forget me?" The reply "We do have other things to do you know!" (I thought that maybe I was ONE of the things to be done) So, I said, "you did forget about me." The annoyed reply: "There's only half of us here." Ok, I'm not the only "customer", people do forget, they may be short staffed. They obviously forgot about me but couldn't acknowledge it, even light heartedly. The tone was that I was the problem and an irritant. The whole experience, and experience of the attitudes of multiple operatives was decidedly different to my previous experiences at North Tees and elsewhere, so I felt compelled to express my discomfort on this occasion.
