I am a 71 year old male and I have Crohn’s disease. I first had a section of my bowel removed in 1983, then for the next 20 years I was trouble-free until my Crohn’s came back again around 2004.
I was put on medication for a while then I had another section of my bowel removed by the surgeon Miss Chisholm who explained the procedure to me in detail which was very reassuring to me. A while after surgery I had another colonoscopy which showed up that I still had inflammation in my bowel.
I was then put under the care of Dr Naismith who has been brilliant along with his IBD team of Alan Seth and Fiona who have all looked after me very well. I would also like to say they are all very easy to speak to and very informative towards my medical treatment and always made me feel at ease.
I would also like to thank the ward nurses that were taking blood and administering my infusions.
"Thank you for 38 years of Crohn’s disease care"
