"Dental clinic day case unit"

About: Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital / Day Case Unit

(as a parent/guardian),

My 6 year old daughter went in to have 9 teeth extracted this has took over a year and a half to get done as she is terrified but over the year we have been working with the play specialist Wendy and she has been absolutely brilliant with my daughter and stayed with her every step off the way while getting this done coz this was a very big deal to a 6 year old who at one point would not even enter the hospital due to fear of thinking she was going to get a needle but as I say the staff have been brilliant and helpful with this and finally my daughter got this done.

Dear Lynneie

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback following your daughters attendance at the day case unit. I hope she is recovering well and not too sore.

Coming into hospital is a very scary for young children with the fear of the unknown. Being scared of needles is very common.I don't particularly like them myself so don't blame her!

The play service are absolutely fantastic in working with children to minimise their fears and I am glad that all the hard work that Wendy has put in over the last year has made such a difference to her experience. I am sure she will be delighted to receive a copy of your feedback.

Thank you again for taking the time to leave feedback
