"Very difficult to obtain medical care"

About: Ritchie Street Group Practice

18 months on and this practice is still using Covid-19 as an excuse for a poor service which is exhibited by difficulty in contacting the surgery and the near impossibility of actually seeing a doctor.

On Tuesday this week, following a bank holiday, I tried all day to contact the surgery. Not only was there no response, my calls were cut off.

I had to resort to the 111 service who thoughgt my condition serious enough to send an ambulance to take me to hospital. In hospital I was advised to see a cardiologist soon. I have to arrange this via my GP practice. regrettably.

On Wednesday, pursuing this advice, I eventually managed to contact the surgery who told me I have to visit at 8 a.m. to arrange a subsequent telephone consultation.

Relating this saga to the doctor, I was told that the hospital discharge letter could not be found and I now have to photograph my copy and e mail to them. What a shambles.

I have no idea when I shall eventually receive some appropriate medical care outside of an already overburdened hospital A&E system.

This situation is ridiculous and this practice is failing to deliver adequate medical care to patients.

Dear patient

Please do accept our apologies for not meeting your expectations.

The pandemic caused a lot off issues for the practice, but i am pleased to say that we are have now returned to normal service.

I hope your experience with us is more positive in the future.

Regards

Ash Ganger

Practice Manager
