"Community Palliative Care"

About: Fife Community Services / Community Palliative Care Fife Community Services / District Nursing Queen Margaret Hospital / Palliative Care and Hospice

(as a service user),

Over the last few months my mum was cared for by the Community Palliative Care Team in NHS Fife following her discharge from acute care. The care she received was amazing and she was able to be cared for by an expert team until she passed away peacefully in her own home.

All the team from the consultants, nurses, occupational therapist, dietician and administration staff were kind, caring, supportive and experts in their fields. Everything my mum needed was organised quickly and calmly to ensure seamless care.

My mum wanted to end her time at home and to be comfortable and the whole team made sure that happened and I can’t thank them enough. They also went out their way to offer me support and kindness at all times. I am aware that this service was increased because of COVID 19 and I hope they are given the funding required to continue.

I also want to thank the district nurses who worked alongside the team ensuring medication was administered effectively and were also a great support to me.

You are all fantastic, thanks to each and every one of the team.
