"Anxious first time parent"

About: Maternity care / Admissions Maternity care / Antenal Ward (A ward)

(as a service user),

As a first time expectant parent I was really anxious about attending admissions yesterday due to severe pregnancy sickness. I was admitted for IV fluids and I have to say I was so well looked after and supported throughout. I am a very anxious and nervous person about any medical procedures and the staff were just so lovely and caring. I want to specially thank Laura the Doctor who put my line in - something I was dreading! and also Margaret, Sophie and Sinead the midwives on A Ward and also the student nurse. They were all so kind and caring and made what could have been a very stressful time for me much easier. Thank you so much!

Dear 'first time expectant parent', thank you for your feedback, we really appreciate that you have taken the time to comment on your care and it is reassuring, for us, to know that your experience was positive. We do appreciate that a first pregnancy, while exciting and full of anticipation, can also be a time of anxiety particularly if you are unwell and need to attend hospital. I am glad your experience in our Maternity Assessment Unit and Antenatal Ward eased your anxiety and stress and we look forward to caring for you during the remainder of your pregnancy. Thank you again for your kind comments and I will share your thanks and appreciation with the staff who cared for you.

Kind regards

Sally
