"Helpful security staff"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus

I brought my husband in with heart problems and because of COVID restrictions I was unable to wait with him. It was a very cold night at around 2.30 am - one of the security personnel very kindly took me to an area of the hospital where I could sit and wait in the warmth without being in anyone’s way. Thank you so much for such thoughtfulness - it was after 3.30 am before I was told that they would keep my husband in overnight for observation and I should go home. My husband has done a separate review on his nursing care.

Thank you for this message. We know having someone come to hospital is not easy for families at the moment due to the restrictions we have to have in place for everyone’s protection from Covid-19 – so I’m glad that in this instance you were able to get some additional support from one of our security team. I’ll make sure this is passed to our head of security so they can see this member of staff’s good work was appreciated.

With best wishes
