"Outstanding care for kidney stones"

About: East Surrey Hospital / Urology

(as the patient),

From the moment i was diagnosed with kidney stones in April I have received outstanding service from NHS, from my local doctor's surgery to East Surrey Hospital a&e.

I had to attend a&e at 0100hrs in April as the pain I was in was intense. The wait time in a&e was only 20 mins, staff saw my suffering, I was in a hospital bed with no more pain within 40 mins, x-rayed, scanned and diagnosed by 0900 hours that same morning.

Fantastic.

These staff and doctor of urology at around 1300 hours inserted 1 x stent into each of my ureters where these stones were located, this was again a great relief as it allowed my body to function as it should.

Urology doctor tells me their plan of action: to arrange a time with me to return to get these kidney stones out, they will examine the stones once removed in an attempt to find what food they are formed from, that way I can adjust my diet. I do not want a repeat of these kidney stones forming inside my body... no more pain!

Thanks NHS.
