My 89 year old mother spent several weeks here in December and, although we knew that she probably couldn't recover due to multiple health issues including advanced dementia, the staff did everything they possibly could and were very kind and patient. I appreciate the very gentle way it was explained to me that mum had reached the end of her life and palliative care was now most appropriate. I was consulted and well informed throughout. Transferral to a nursing home ( 10 minutes walk from our house) for her last few weeks was smooth and efficient.
Mum has been an inpatient in Kingston hospital many times over the last few years and we've never been anything less than 100% happy with the care she received. This is quite incredible considering the current crisis. It certainly makes you proud of the NHS and the awesome people who work in it. Thank you so very much.
"Kind and respectful end of life care."
