"Broken finger"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Minor Injuries Unit

(as a service user),

I hurt my finger on a Tuesday and having waited to see if it would improve it became clear there was a bigger issue so I went to minor injuries on the Thursday morning. Parking was a nightmare but once I arrived I was treated with professionalism and respect by everyone I met. After an x ray it was revealed I had a small fracture and had a procedure on my nail and was plastered up. Well done to all the staff for their help as I am now on the mend.

Dear AS1983,

Thank you for sharing your experience on Care Opinion. Feedback from patients is greatly appreciated, and I’m pleased to hear you were treated with professionalism and respect. I will make sure to pass your story on to staff in the Minor Injuries Unit, as I’m sure they’ll take comfort in your kind words.

I’m also sorry to hear that you had difficulty parking. There is high demand on the site and as you’ve probably experienced, car parks can get full during busy periods. I will, however, share your feedback with facilities.

Kind Regards,

Euan

Hi AS1983,

Please see below a response from Aly Thomson in Facilities:

Dear AS1983

Thank you for your feedback following your recent visit to the QEUH.

We are very sorry that your experience with parking on our campus was not as seamless as expected.

We have dedicated car parking attendants that support the management and flow of traffic across the various car parks on site but do recognise that at peak times it can be challenging to find a free parking space. If you ever need to attend again and have difficulty locating a bay, please seek assistance from a Car Parking Attendant (CPA) for directions to multi storey car park P2, where bays are normally available. The CPAs can be found at the entrance of the car park opposite the minor injuries unit.

We are pleased that your treatment went well and hope that your recovery is progressing.

Kind Regards

Aly Thomson
