My daughter has been having ongoing tests through GP since December as she has been suffering from bowel and stomach problems, suspected Crohn’s Disease.
She had a colonoscopy procedure on the 5th of March and still has not received her results but was told 2 weeks ago her as an impatient that her biopsies were sitting there but there was no gastroenterologist’s available to interpret them.
During the last 8 weeks she has been admitted twice to A&E along with numerous calls and visits to GP and ADOC. The first time was due to nerve damage in her neck caused by the colonoscopy, and then admitted again a few weeks later for vomiting which was a very black colour and came with a temperature, pain and dizziness. When admitted for this the doctors in hospital were very horrible to her and made her like an inconvenience, saying she has lost 3 stone oh that’s good! and that Crohn’s is like eating salt and vinegar crisps it will nip your mouth, similarly, when you eat it will be nipping your bowel.
She had to return from university as she couldn’t cope with the bone pain and hair falling out, fatigue etc. We have been in touch with GP multiple times most weeks begging for help and answers, she is 18 and feels like an old woman.
"Feel like we have been left to rot in the NHS."
