"Great experience"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Oral and Maxillofacial

(as the patient),

To preface this; I have social anxiety and dental phobia. I have not had any work done in an extremely long time due to this and had very badly damaged teeth.

The staff in here were extremely welcoming and made me feel at ease. Even though I managed to have a bit of a panic attack just before the surgery they were calming and empathetic.

This turned what I foresaw as an absolute nightmare into the closest thing I can call to a pleasant experience when requiring surgery; haha.

Directions where clear, I was asked several times if I had any questions at multiple points. Each step was gone through with me; I woke up and did not feel even a quarter as bad as expected.

Great experience from someone terrified of dentistry.

Dear Srfz,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your story with us. It must have been a very worrying day for you but I’m so glad you were made to feel welcome and put at ease by the team yesterday.

It really is wonderful to hear as we all work very hard to ensure patients receive the best possible standard of care within our department.

I will ensure your kind words and positive feedback are passed on to the theatre team as I know they will be very much appreciated.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.

With kindest regards

Lucie Baker (Unit Sister)
