"My Dads stay on the ward"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Elderly Medicine (Wards 51, 52, 54,55, 57, 8a & 2a)

(as a service user),

My elderly dad was admitted to ward 55 after a fall. Through his stay he was treated with great care and kindness. After initially finding communication difficult with the staff, Andrea got involved and from there I felt fully in the loop and reassured. It’s difficult when your loved one is in hospital especially in these Covid times and so I am all the more appreciative of all the staffs hard work and dedication.

Dear Teddy2015,

Thank you for taking the time to share your story. I am sorry to hear about your father’s fall and hope he is on his way to a successful recovery.

I am sorry to hear that communication with staff was difficult initially. However, I’m pleased that this improved with the help of Andrea and you were kept in the loop and reassured during this challenging time.

I will make sure that your post is shared with staff in Ward 55, as I’m sure they will also take comfort in your kind words.

Wishing you and your family well.

Kind Regards,

Euan
