"Dental care in hospital"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Oral and maxillofacial surgery

(as a service user),

As a phobic dental patient I was very anxious about attending my appointment and how I would cope with the treatment. From the moment I stepped into the treatment room I was put at ease and supported to deal with the anxiety I was feeling.

Dr Williams and the nursing staff listened to everything I had to say about previous experiences and acknowledged the difficulties this presented me with. They worked with me to plan the treatment in a way to met my needs and communicated everything clearly. Due to my phobia I ended up having to have the work completed under a general anesthetic and the care I recieved on the day from all involved was exceptional. I was treated with compassion, professionalism and kindness from start to finish. I hope I'm on the way to getting over this phobia and I put that solely down to this experience, I can't thank the team enough.
