About: Bradford Royal Infirmary

In October 2020 I was diagnosed with stage 2 to 3 oesophagus cancer. After various meetings and tests I was placed into a treatment plan, this was to include 4 cycles of chemotherapy, followed by an esophagectomy, followed by chemotherapy.

From before my admission which was 29th March 2021 the support and reassurance from the surgical team has been fantastic. It was down to one nurse who talked me into the operation. For that she has my eternal gratitude, along with the surgeon and not forgetting every single team member from start to finish. To say the treatment and operation so far has been a success is an understatement. I was released from hospital on 12th March 2021. Since then I have walked 1 to 2 miles daily without incident. My Sat's are 94 to 96 over 68 whenever I check them. Everything is perfect and going well. This was helped by the team of intensive physiotherapists who got me on my way again. I would just like to thank everyone for their individual involvement through this process and also let you know what a fantastic team you all make. I am forever grateful.
