Almost impossible to get an appointment. Even a general enquiry meant I had to wait 76 mins on the phone when only number 7 in the queue at the start. Tried to book this morning nothing available online and there were over 30 queueing on the phone. Had to go to Urgent care centre recently as couldnt weight bear at all, even though had seen the doctor earlier in the week and he 'didnt have time' to discuss the problems which caused me to go there. So I now need to book another slot instead of dealing with the problem. I still have the same worsening symptoms, and are now looking for a more efficient practice. I worked for the NHS in management for 20 years but this practice needs major reorganisation if its to improve. Have been with this group since 1995 but enough is enough. I really feel sorry for the people answering the phones, ( more staff may help cut down long waits).
Never had any problems before the practice changed hands but there is no continuity of care which is crucial in a GP practice. Problems are blamed on Covid and I admit this is a challenge but with the right systems in place it is not insurmountable. If patients can be seen at the urgent care centre why cant they be seen at the surgery?
How many people are suffering with the situation as it is? How many are giving up looking for help?
"Not so great practice anymore."
