"Well looked after by the nurses on Ward 1A"

About: Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Day surgery

(as a parent/guardian),

My son was in for day surgery and was well looked after by the nurses on Ward 1A, in particular Rebecca who was very friendly, professional and reassuring to this anxious mum.  All staff were very patient with my son and kind to me knowing how worried I was.

Rebecca escorted us to a different ward when it transpired we should be kept in for observation and came back to see us the next morning to see how we were, which was lovely.

Overall a far less traumatic experience than I had expected.

Dear LorM84,

What a lovely post to read and thank you so much for sharing the story from both you and your son's perspective.

Having a wee one in hospital can be the most worrying and anxious time and when we read your comments, we were very thankful for the warmth and compassion you experienced from our 1A Team, particularly Rebecca. I can share that our Senior Management Team have already forwarded your comments and sent their personal thanks to Rebecca and to her colleagues for their support of you. We really are very proud of them.

It was truly our pleasure to look after your son, and thank you for trusting us with both your care. I hope your son is recovering well at home.

Sending best wishes

Take care

Coral
