I attempted to obtain an advanced telephone consultation with a surgery Doctor to discuss concerning and ongoing symptoms. The only available appointment was 2 weeks away. I e-mailed Patient Services and was extremely impressed by and grateful for the support I received from the teams supervisor. It was prompt, professional and proactive and an emergency telephone consultation was arranged for the same day. The
Patient Support teams performance as first point of contact is central to the patients experience and I was impressed and relieved by the supervisors ability to assess my needs and identify the most appropriate and timely support.
Following on from the telephone consultation a surgery appointment was arranged for early in the morning the next surgery day. As has always been the case at this Practice the Dr was very professional and thorough. During the consultation bloods were taken without the need to return or visit another clinic. This will help speed up diagnostic results and in turn the implementation of a care plan where relevant. A commitment was made to contact me the following day to discuss results and next steps which was reassuring.
It would appear that the Millbank Team have significantly improved, streamlined and targeted the support they offer patients. This is appreciated as it reduces the stress, frustration and anxiety associated with slow response times, limited appointments and the requirement of multiple visits to the surgery. It must also significantly increase the efficiency and focus of the Practice and therefore the quality of service that it can provide to the community. This is particularly impressive considering how stretched the practice must have been due to the pandemic.
The Practice has been supporting me and my family for over 30 years and their support is much appreciated - Thank You!
