About: The Linthorpe Surgery

Rang the surgery for an appointment (mid March) for ear wax removal, told that this isn’t done now due to Coronavirus and to ring 111. 111 made an appointment at Redcar, only when I got there was told that they didn’t do this & the GP needs to do a referral, in the meantime try some drops. Tried using drops which didn’t work. First week in April managed to get an appointment for the surgery to be told again that they did not do ear syringing. Asked to be referred and told that they didn’t do that and to try putting drops in, which I have already tried. It is now a month since this started. I am going dizzy, gone off balance and fell. I was told I had impacted wax. I am a pensioner on pension credit, but despite this tried to find somewhere private. I have spent all day, places are booked up for a month. A relative works with someone in their mid-twenties, who had a problem with ear wax in February and was told although the surgery didn’t syringe ears at the moment due to Covid they would refer him to someone who could. His GP surgery is just around the corner in the One Life centre. Am I too old to bother for the surgery to bother with or is the other surgery a more caring practice?
