"Lovely receptionist"

About: The Lawson Practice

(as a service user),

I called the Lawson Practice this morning and spoke to a lovely receptionist. I don't wish to disclose her name. She was very polite, friendly and professional whilst she was dealing with me and considering that I was upset when I rang I thought she dealt with me exceptionally well. Receptionists are at the forefront of a practice and should ensure that they remain professional, listen to their patients cares and needs and ensure that they are looked after well in which the receptionist I am talking about done all of the above. She made me feel very comfortable. She has very good listening skills, nice calm pleasant voice and so by her being this way I was calmed down instantly and she also professionally booked two appointments for me whilst dealing with me being upset. Excellent receptionist! !

I am responsible for staff wellbeing and employment matters. I also ensure that the building is safe and fit for use by patients, external services and our own staff.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know that you had a positive and helpful interaction with one of our receptionists.

The receptionists are at the forefront of the practice as you mention and listening and responding to their patient's needs is of utmost importance. Stories such as this one which shows that they are getting things right really do help to lift the teams spirit and I will ensure that this story is shared with the team today.
