I suffer from both RA & OA and am currently awaiting knee replacement surgery.
I called the surgery regards ongoing management of the pain whilst waiting for the surgery date, and to help with my situation.
On my initial consultation following my request for an appointment, I was called by a GP within an hour who talked me through options and this was when I was offered a steroid injection into the joint. I
I decided to go ahead with this option as they have previously been successful in eliviating my discomfort.
This was followed up by a call from the patient services team who informed me which GP would be calling me and when to organise to have the treatment.
To my surprise this was to be the following day, which I was not expecting at all, as I thought it maybe within a few days or so given the current climate surrounding COVID 19.
As advised I received the call from the GP the following day. who then asked if I could make it to the surgery within the hour to have the steroid injection administered.
Fortunately I was able to attend and had the procedure carried out.
From my initial call to the surgery and the completion of my treatment, it was less than 24hrs. In normal circumstances this would have been an extremely quick and efficient service however during the COVID 19 pandemic, I feel this was an exceptional and stress free provision of GP care towards their patients.
I cannot fault the service I received from all staff concerned for both care and efficiency. They were friendly, caring and professional and I am extremely grateful to all concerned,
Thank you
"Superb Care"
