"Patient centred care"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Day Surgery

(as a service user),

I went to FVRH for what I thought was an out patient appointment prior to a minor surgery.

On arrival I was informed that actually I was having the surgery.

I felt unprepared mentally and physically even though it was a minor surgery.  David and Lee-Ann were reassuring, professional yet fun.

They made me feel relaxed and within a brief period the surgery was over. Thanks for your support. Much appreciated. Certainly promoted person centred-care.

Dear Naana,

Thank you for leaving such a nice piece of feedback.

I am sorry for the confusion about the purpose of your appointment. We are trying to expedite things by doing "one stop"" clinics where you have the procedure carried out at the one appointment instead of being sent away and added to a lengthy waiting list.

I know it can come as a surprise and I am pleased Lee-Ann and I were able to support you and make you more comfortable to proceed.

Hopefully you are healing well and didn't find it too uncomfortable

Thanks again

David
