"Broken wrist"

About: Musgrove Park Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

I slipped and broke my wrist whilst walking my dogs. After ringing nhs 111 I was advised to go to Taunton Musgrove A&E. On arrival I was given the usual Covid checks and issued with a hospital grade face mask.

Every member of staff I saw was extremely helpful and kind. I was initially assessed within 15 minutes of arrival and then taken straight to XRay. The doctor I saw was called Tom and he quickly put me at ease and explained very thoroughly what had happened to my wrist and how they would deal with it.

I was eventually put in plaster after having the bone manually reset with the help of some gas and air. All the time I was well looked after.

The following day I received a follow up call and an appointment for the fracture clinic.

Well done to the A&E team you were all superb. Thank you so much.
