I think the GP’s have little time to deal with patients with complicated health issues. Trying to get an appt is difficult enough but getting one for long enough to deal with complex issues is near impossible. So I would say if you have the odd health issue it is fine, with complicated issues go elsewhere. I have had good and bad experiences, some times being spoken to as a child, sometimes as though I am a nuisance and irritation. I am not specifically referring to the experience on the 8th, (I think the GP seemed rushed and under stress but did her best In the time allotted) but various others where I felt rushed and not listed to. A suggestion is that the GP’s register a patient as having complex issues and thus when they ask for a long appt they are not given a hard time or inquisition. When I asked for a double appt, I was questioned and then called twice to query I needed it. Then when I only booked a single slot, due to the hard time I was given, told I could choose what issue I wanted to talk about, I had to choose. Having waited nearly a month to get an appt that left me frustrated and fed up. I felt matters were not covered. Most patients don’t want to inconvenience a GP, or take their time up unnecessarily and feel bad for doing so. I have been given conflicting advice on more than one occasion by reception. On the whole gone down hill. I have been with this surgery for most of my 58 years so have a lot to compare it with. Sign of government cuts, who knows, but sadly it’s not great. I am sure the GP’s are great if they could have the correct time, but sadly it seems too often now that they are rushing through. One told me..... ‘you see we work on the basis that 99 per cent of people don’t come back... and the ones that do we know they have something properly wrong with them. Is that a great attitude to have!
