I was refered to this womens health unit by my gp and in my referal the words Must See Female Doctors/ Nurses Only.
The day of my appointment i arrived was very anxious ( i have complexed ptsd and mental health problems) btw saw a female doctor/nurse and a student (btw wasnt asked if it was ok for a student) had a biopsy with 4 of us in the room, nothing was really explained so was very shocked when the biopsy was done i wasnt expecting so much pain.
Anyway the consultant put me on a female doctors list for a very imtimate procedure to have only a female doctor do it due to my past traumas of sexual assault by a male doctor when i was a teenage girl.
I was surprised to get my letter for my procedure a few days later but it had no doctors name or what it was for so rang up and found out they had put me on a male doctors list even though i had stated right from gp referal must only see a female doctor.
The procedure i was supposed to be having they wanted to put me sleep for
So basically they were going to put me to sleep thinking i was in safe hands with a female doctor when really it was with a male locum doctor, if i hadnt of rang they would of let me have this procedure with this male doctor and completly dissrespected my wishes i am so glad i found out before this was allowed to happen to me.
If you cant trust a hospital then who can you trust....so wrong on so many levels!!
Btw i wont be going this hospital for women things again.
This department needs investigating!!
