"Practice failing to communicate clearly to…"

About: Gardenia Practice

Muddled, grammatically poor and confusing message sent by the Gardenia & Marsh Farm Practice as a mobile text to patients.

Copied below word for word

Gardenia and Marsh Practice will be changing the way we contacts patients for Chronic Disease Reviews. We will know be contact all patients for your reviews bloods in the quarter in which your birthday falls. Eg May birthday will be called between April-June and birth month of December birthday will be contact between Oct-Dec. We will contact you but it would be helpful if you contact us and make an appointment around your birthday.

As Required by NHS Review the above poor use of the language contains sufficient information to assist others in making a decision about their choice of provider and also allows the service provider to take this feedback and use it in a constructive way.

I am really sorry that you felt our message was grammatically poor. This message went out to over 4000 patients on 1st April over the Easter weekend and was well received by many patients and lots of patients have been in touch. We appreciate that the message would of been better worded but this would have increased the characters of the message and the text allows us a certain number of characters.

We are very grateful to those patients who have received the text message and subsequently contacted us to book there annual reviews.
