Arrived early for my appointment went to pay parking fee in parking meter to find it was out of order walked the length of car park to other parking meter. Instructions for use not at all clear. Managed to work out how to use the machine (with the help of a younger person) and tried unsuccessfully to insert coins into the machine. It would only accept card payments. After eventually reaching my partner to bring a card to use we eventually managed to pay fee guestimated.
This performance put me under great pressure to reach the outpatients department on time for my appointment. Being hot and bothered is not really an advisable state to be in when attending an Hospital appointment. Can I please ask that Buckland Hospital to considers the system used at Ashford and Canterbury Hospitals. Importantly you only pay for the time of use of the car park instead of having to guess how long you will need to be parked there. Also the payment machine is so much simpler to use with clear instructions. While waiting for me to return from my appointment (approximately 45 mins) my Partner observed and spoke to three other people experiencing the same difficulties.
