"There needs to be more communication"

About: Highbury Hospital / Redwood Ward 2 (Female)

(as a service user),

It’s a friendly environment. There’s needs to be more communication between staff and patients and also staff to staff. Sometimes things don’t get handed over between shifts and sometimes staff will think other staff have let a patient know about an appointment etc but in reality the patient hasn’t been told at all.

It would be good if there was a healthier menu as it’s quite stodgy and a lot of potato. Also there’s not a lot of fruit or variety of fruit.

Hi Clouds,

Thank you for taking the time to post regarding your experience on Redwood 2. Firstly I am really pleased that you feel that it is a friendly environment, I will pass this onto the ward manager to share with the team.

I am sorry that you feel that the communication on the ward is not as good as it should be and I would be really interested to discuss this further so that I can gain more information so I can work with the team to improve on this.

There is options of healthier food from the menu whilst in hospital and can be discussed with the nursing team or the ward environmental-co-ordinator, the menu's are reviewed regularly to ensure they try and cater for all needs.

Many thanks

Steve Hill
