"Incompetence from staff"

About: General practices in Ayrshire & Arran

(as the patient),

I was left without vital medication over Easter Holidays despite putting my repeat in 4 days in advance. Then when surgery reopened on Tuesday I was reassured my prescription would be in later at chemist. This was NOT the case and in the end a member of staff from the chemist went to surgery to collect it for me. I was deeply distressed and upset. I did not even get an apology. Thank you to all the staff at chemist they are the real angels

Dear Cookie1234

I am sorry to hear of your experience. I understand how frustrating and distressing it can be to be left without necessary medication so I am delighted to hear that the pharmacy staff were so helpful.

I am conscious how busy our general practices are, especially on the lead up to holiday weekends so I am sure this was a simple oversight. However, I fully appreciate your disappointment in not having received an apology.

If you wish me to follow this up with the practice involved, please don't hesitate to get in touch with your details via email: Laura.Harvey@aapct.scot.nhs.uk

Best Wishes

Laura
