As the carer of someone who has severe MH conditions who has been "treated" by this hospital for over a decade I am appalled at the lack of empathy shown to them. Cancelled appointments by text week after week usually on a Friday afternoon when no one can be contacted. Promises made for a safe place where all information is confidential and continued support.. Only to be left with no help for weeks on end. People who come to you as a last resort and bare their souls to you in the hope of getting help only to be treated as if they don't matter. I am constantly living with the fear of them taking their own life.
listening to them sobbing for hours because they have been let down by St Michaels yet again. Causing another crisis. You are supposed to help people who are suicidal. But when they call they are told they will have to wait weeks for someone to speak to them! Have you any idea of how that makes them feel? It breaks my heart to see what my child is going through knowing there is nothing I can do because they are at the mercy of the non existent mental health system that has let them down yet again .
Your service users are desperate for help but they are not seen as human beings with heightened emotions just numbers on an ever growing list because nothing gets resolved.
