"Alzhiemers support"

About: Community Mental Health Services / Dementia Outreach Team (DOT)

(as a carer),

I needed support with a drastic change in my husbands Alzheimer's condition, and through initial contact with my GP, that same afternoon I had a call from Dementia Outreach Team, followed the next day by I had a visit from a male and female nurse from the team, who spent time to listen to both my husband and myself, together and individually. With great reassurance and understanding, they reported their concerns to the Consultant in team, who in turn prescribed medication which helped. In these days of Covid pandemic I and my family, were overwhelmed by the immediate support and help we received from this service, and the continuous telephone support they have given since their visit. So thankful to them, with the assurance I can refer back to them if needed.

Many thanks for taking the time to send in such positive feedback. It's lovely to hear you were provided with a quick response and felt supported, as this is one of the aims of the Dementia Outreach Team..I will pass on your thanks to the team.
