It became apparent that I appeared to have been overlooked for my COVID-19 vaccination, so I decided to call the COVID contact centre. I described my concern to a well spoken lady who after checking my details suggested that I should wait one more week, in the hope of receiving an appointment letter, before contacting them again. I was satisfied with this response but was then surprised by a return call from the same lady (Molly), only 15 minutes later.
Molly advised that she had looked a little deeper into my enquiry and had noted that an appointment had been booked in my name and sent to an address with the same address as my own albeit with an incorrect post code assigned to it. She suggested I contact my gp to have them check and correct any anomaly before the contacted her once more to resolve the issue. Being a Saturday I resolved to address this on the following Monday.
On Sunday afternoon I received a call from a supervisor at the COVID-19 Contact Centre who explained that, after reviewing my calls with his team member, he wanted to resolve this issue now in terms of ensuring I was given an appointment date now. After going through the necessary personal and c
Health checks I was then issued with an appointment in the near future, which delighted me.
I think that this team deserve praise for not letting what turned out to be an administration error prevent me from missing out on this crucial vaccination and for delving deep to recognise and take action to resolve my issue.
Thank you to all involved
Ps error of incorrect post code has now been resolved with gp,
