"Ballycastle District Nurses"

About: District Nursing / District Nursing - Moyle

(as a service user),

After my mother came home from Causeway Hospital where she received stunning care we had to have a home care package in place which was organised between the hospital and northern trust in partnership with Platinum home care services in Ballycastle and for the last seven months mammy had a team of angels giving her care daily alongside this was a regular brilliant professional team of district nurses under team leader McCambridge, when a call was made for advice or the need of any nursing support the house call was prompt and conducted in a kind homely caring way. many of the calls were given by the excellent nurse Duncan Mother was so beautifully looked after time after time and when she passed on a month ago there were a few sad ladies from these teams as they and mammy had built such a wonderful respite Ballycastle health care professionals pharmacist Michael, doctors Harrison and Chestnutt,  receptionist, physio Janet, Occupational therapist Mary and district nurses and care team are the best professionals my mammy was blessed to know thank you.

Dear JoVenna

My name is Marion Orr and I'm a District Nursing Coach in the Northern Health and Social Care Trust. I support the District Nursing teams in the Trust to continually improve the quality and experience of care for patients and their families. In particular I have worked closely with the DN team in the Moyle over the past couple of years.

Thank-you so much for taking the time to express such warm compliments to the District Nurse (Sister), community nursing team and also the multi-disciplinary team and domiciliary care team in the care provided to your Mum in the last seven months of her life.

The District Nursing team place an emphasis on providing a high standard of palliative care. This feedback will endorse this and provide motivation and a sense of pride as they continue with their work in this area.

Your feedback also highlights the vital role that everyone plays and it is heartening to learn of how well everyone worked together in the care of your Mum and in providing support to yourself at a difficult time.

I have passed on your feedback to the District Nurse (Sister) who will in turn pass it on to the DN team. I also plan to inform the other members of the multi-disciplinary team, the GP surgery and the care provider.

Thank-you sincerely

Marion
