"My dad is 88 and alone in hospital"

About: Southern Health & Social Care Trust / Virtual Visiting Service

(as a relative),

My da is 88 so no smart phone or any phone for that matter. So contacting him while he is in hospital is not an option.

With not being able to visit I felt cut off from him and was worrying about him as he is not as good at remembering or communicating.

The virtual visit was great it put my mind at ease and I was relieved to see him.

So thank you very much to the team who are providing this service

Good afternoon

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience of the new Virtual Visiting Service in Southern Health and Social Services Trust. We recognise how difficult it is for families at the minute with the restricted visiting guidelines in place due to Covid 19. This new service has been established to try to support patients and families during this time. Your feedback just lets us see how the important is service is to you and your Father. Its lovely to read that the virtual visit put your mind at ease and I am so sure that you were so relieved to see him.

I have personally shared your lovely comments with all the members of the Virtual Visiting Team. They are just delighted with this feedback.
