I had a planned section almost 5 weeks ago and I was so impressed with how this went. It was like clockwork, lots of staff were present but each one told me what their role was and they all kept me so calm.
The care we received after my daughter was born was second to none. I was especially impressed with our midwife Ellis overnight, she was so patient and took lots of time to help me express as I had been struggling with feeding. The nursery nurse Claire was also amazing, with lots of great advice for a first time mum.
Fast forward 11 days and I sadly had a secondary postpartum haemorrhage at home in the shower. My husband had to rush me back to hospital where I collapsed on arrival. The staff during this time were all excellent! I was in hospital for 3 nights and my care was amazing. Special thanks to Fiona (day shift) and Rebecca (nightshift) for looking after me so well.
I had to go back for a staple to be removed and all the staff knew me and my story. They each took care of me brilliantly and I can’t thank maternity services at the Vic enough for everything.
"The best maternity care"
