"Thank you for our daughter's multiple surgeries and your care"

About: Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Neurology Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Paediatric surgery ( Wards 3A & 3B)

(as a service user),

Our daughter has had multiple surgeries all done with the amazing craniofacial and neurology team at QEHC Glasgow: Mr Halsnad, Mr Koppal, Mr Sangra, Miss Campbell, Shona and the amazing ward 3a team and behind the scenes staff have made our crazy scary journey that little bit easier.

We will be forever grateful for the hours and hours of hard work and out of hours time that have gone into our care. We feel in ward 3a it’s our family we’re just visiting and we’re never away for too long ! They are true superheroes ❤️

Our latest surgeries were done by Mr Halsnad whom we call our hero! He has made our daughter breathe without a ventilator, feel more confident in herself and smell for the first time in 8 years. The work he has done is without a doubt a miracle to us. We will be eternally grateful and thankful💕 His manner and professionalism makes you feel at ease from beginning to end 💙

Mr Koppal and Mr Sangra had done numerous surgeries on my daughter to get us to where we are today and we are truly thankful to the highest degree! We know how our daughter likes to throw the unknown at us but you are all understanding and have something else up your sleeve to help her best you can, and do so every single time.

We like coming to see you all but we love leaving, and this time we hope it will be for a long time 💕😊

Dear Vonny1414,

What a truly inspiring story of your brave daughter and the journey she has been on, helped along by our wonderful team, thank you so very much for sharing this with us.

We love that you consider us your family - it's how we think of our children (patients) and their parents, and our colleagues, and even though your daughter is now thankfully at home, she will always be part of the hospital here.

You've delighted us all by telling us how well your daughter has progressed, and for her to be ventilator free and to smell is joyous news and we hope so much she goes from strength to strength.

Our team will be so pleased with your comments. Our Senior Management team will be in touch with their own personal thanks to all our colleagues from Ward 3A and our Neuro Teams, particularly Mr Halsnad, Mr Koppel and Mr Sangra.

Thank you Vonny1414 for trusting us with the care of your daughter. Please accept our very best wishes to you and your family! And do keep in touch - we love hearing about 'our' children's progress.

Take good care and all the best

Coral
