"Ambulance staff made a difference"

(as a relative),

As someone with a leadership role in the NHS, my ask of the staff who work in the department I am responsible for is to be a decent person, to be kind and open.

Yesterday 2 ambulance crews from Fife attended to my Mum in Kelty, despite their efforts she died.

I arrived after they had treated my Mum.

All members of the ambulance service were decent, kind people they were open and thorough about their efforts. It was their decency and kindness that shone through.

I am of course extremely grateful for their clinical efforts but actually I’m more grateful for the way they engaged with me.

I hope the ambulance teams know how amazing their approach to their work is.

I am so so very sorry to read about your mum. My thoughts are with you and your extended family during this very sad and difficult time.

I would like to thank you for sharing such lovely feedback for our crew, it means a lot especially when dealing with the loss of your mum, and I am also very sorry the outcome wasn't a better one.
