"A series of ill-health incidents"

About: District Nursing / District Nursing - Antrim South

(as a carer),

My 79 year old disabled  wife had a series of ill-health incidents over recent years. Apart from her long term diabetes (type 2) and advancing arthritis, she had an operation on the spine, a heart attack which required four stents, radiography for a tumor in her vagina, a diagnosis of Vascular Dementia,   and in December 2020 two strokes the second of which has left her disabled on her right side and a serious worsening of the dementia. Cover has been provided to my wife by district nurses.

Dear jkmk

My name is Marion Orr and I'm a District Nursing Coach in the Northern Health and Social Care Trust. I support all the District Nursing teams in the Trust to provide and improve nursing care which places the patient and their family at the centre of the provision of care.

Thank-you for your feedback in relation to the Antrim district nurses/community nurses who have been providing nursing care to your wife who has dementia and a number of other conditions including strokes which can be so debilitating. They have also been supporting you in the care of your wife.

I have passed on your feedback to the District Nurse (Sister) who will in turn pass it on to the DN team. This endorses the good care that they endeavour to provide and also provides motivation within the team.

Kind regards

Marion
