"The care I received was truly exceptional"

I recently had a colposcopy done at Wishaw General Gynaecology department with Dr Minhas. I had a very positive experience and wanted to feed back about how impressed I was with the doctor’s professionalism and how reassured she and the two nurses working with her made me feel.

I was quite anxious and tearful going in to the colposcopy, however the procedure was done so quickly and efficiently, that my fears were soon put to rest. There was a lovely nurse who held my hand and gave me water and was so kind to me throughout, and I felt very comforted by her presence during the procedure ( both nurses were great and very friendly and kind but I had more interaction with the nurse who was holding my hand, because she was nearer to me). I also brought up to Dr Minhas a recent diagnosis of a gynaecological disease that I had received privately, and we had a discussion about this. Dr Minhas was very attentive and took interest in this diagnosis, which I appreciated very much. She was very knowledgeable and advised me to request pictures and surgical reports and pass these on to my own GP, to ensure my record was up to date. I felt this indicated a great deal of professionalism on Dr Minhas’ part, as it was clear that she wanted to impart to me the importance of ensuring any diagnosis given was correct and accurate and of keeping my own GP informed.

I would like to commend Dr Minhas not only for the excellent manner in which she dealt with me during the whole colposcopy, and the quick and painless way she carried it out, but also for her interest in my own medical history and diagnosis and for her professional wisdom regarding how to seek out best care and to ensure integrity of medical providers. I appreciated Dr Minhas helping me to remember and realise the importance of ensuring that the medical providers I go to are trustworthy and ethical. Thank you also to the lovely nurses for their exceptional care during my colposcopy - you really helped me to feel calm and comforted and I was so grateful for your kindness when I felt very vulnerable. Overall, the care I received from both Dr Minhas and the two nurses was truly exceptional and I would like them to be made aware of this.
