"Kind treatment of young people who have a learning disability at Covid-19 vaccination centre."

About: The Ulster Hospital / Vaccination Centre

(as a service user),

I attended the Ulster Hospital. Dundonald (UHD) recently for Covid-19 vaccination. Whilst waiting in the lengthy queue, I saw three different young people who have a learning disability and their parents or carers either arriving or leaving. Those who were arriving were greeted with warmth and consideration by the volunteers and fast tracked for their vaccinations. The nurses treated each person with great respect, and engaged in light-hearted conversation designed to place these young people at ease. One young person was leaving and expressed his thanks for his treatment.   I was so delighted to see such excellent practice.
