About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Gastroenterology

(as the patient),

I spent 2 hours in the endoscopy unit.  From start to finish the staff were amazing and really put me at ease.  I decided against sedation and opted for the throat numbing spray.  My only criticism is that the throat numbing spray could do with a better flavour banana and menthol I don't think so.  I received my result before I even left the treatment room and went straight home after with no need to stay in recovery.

An excellent team I could not fault them in anyway.

Thank you for taking the time to share your story with us. Please firstly, accept my apologies for the delay in responding to you on here. I was so pleased to see that you found the staff who looked after you to be amazing and that they were able to put you at ease. I was glad that you were able to receive your results so quickly and were able to go straight home after your procedure. Regarding the throat numbing spray, I will make sure this is fed back to the department.
