"Care of my mother"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Elderly Medicine (Wards 51, 52, 54,55, 57, 8a & 2a) Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Palliative Care

(as a relative),

My mum was admitted to the Langlands Unit Ward 54 at the Queen Elizabeth hospital for the elderly with a suspected infection. Sadly my mum was diagnosed with advanced cancer. The care and compassion shown by all staff - nurses, auxiliaries, palliative care and the doctors was exceptional. This brought us comfort at a very difficult time especially in these unprecedented circumstances. The staff were there   continuously there to support us throughout.

Thank you for your kind words at what must be a very difficult time. I am sorry for your loss, but very glad your experience of the care you and your mother received in the Langlands Unit was of a high standard.

The Hospital Palliative Care Team work closely with the team on ward 53, and I will be sure to pass on your lovely feedback to everyone here. It really does make a difference to hear such positive words about the care of patients with palliative care needs, as I know the staff strive to do the best they possibly can. If I can be of any additional help or assistance, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
