I had three appointments with NCAS and these were all with a clinical psychologist called Rita.
I felt very reassured during these appointments and NCAS adapted their service to meet my needs, e. g. using different video calling software.
Rita was extremely knowledgeable and took the time to explain complicated concepts to me which I was able to understand. I was very comfortable talking to someone who was genuinely empathetic and felt like my inner experiences were understood.
The diagnostic report that I received was very thorough and all-encompassing and it complimented the assessment extremely well providing me with something to refer back to but also to provide to any other professionals who may be responsible for my care. This also included recommendations for other existing services that I am receiving treatment; Rita has consulted with these ensuring consistency in approach, so I am provided with the best treatment possible and so it is adapted to my personal needs.
I also received post-diagnostic support from NCAS and this helped me to understand the implications of my diagnosis (both positive & negative) and this has started to enable me to better understand myself. Again, complicated concepts were explained using concrete examples and further ideas and suggestions were provided for me to explore, if I wish to.
I would thoroughly recommend NCAS for anyone seeking an Autism diagnosis & Rita is a credit to the NCAS team.
"Positive NCAS experience"
