To be clear we all know we have a lot to be grateful for with the NHS and I appreciate the staff are busy and stressed whilst trying to juggle many things.
However, after listening to a two minute introduction and being on hold for 27 minutes (11th in the queue), it is rather rude and frustrating to have your call answered, but cut off immediately. You can hear the click as your call is disconnected. I call again; find myself 12th in the queue for 51 minutes only to find that there are no appointments available this morning. No satisfactory explanation given as to why my original call was cut off. To be clear I called the surgery at 08:29, as appointments are made from 08:30. I can only be grateful that my manager understands me being late to work as I am on hold for another 51 minutes. If I were to answer the phone and hang up on one of our customers, it would not be acceptable and I would be held accountable. For the record, this is not the first time either myself or a family member has experienced this. This is also clear from Google reviews concerning St Edwards Medical Centre and calls being disconnected.
Once again, thanks to the NHS. However, with signs up saying in surgeries along the lines of 'respect our staff and that abuse isn't tolerated'. I ask to be treated with that same respect.
"Terrible phone service"
