"Being looked after whilst unwell"

About: East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust / Emergency ambulance Northampton General Hospital (Acute) / Accident and emergency

(as a service user),

I had tested positive with Covid but felt ok for the first few days, however I have asthma and then started struggling with my breath, my wife called an ambulance which came in minutes the staff were brilliant, and suggested i went in to be checked over.

This I did and spent 24 hours in hospital , they did every type of check to make sure I was ok, then discharged me with a home monitoring pack, and steroids etc, I monitored myself, and the staff rang 3/4 times a day it was brilliant.

Cant praise everyone at the hospital highly enough, only thing is the courier company have not contacted me for the collection yet.

Dear Allsy,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. I do hope you are feeling much better now, and I'm pleased to hear our ambulance crews were able to help you in your hour of need.

If you are able, we would appreciate you sharing your comments with our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) team, with as much detail as you can (e.g. date, time and location), so that they might identify the crew who cared for you and share your words with them. You may contact them via telephone on 0333 012 4216 or email emas.pals@nhs.net.

Best wishes,

Lee Brentnall
