Due to my high levels of anxiety affecting my physical health and day-to-day life, I spoke to my GP, who referred me to Hounlsow IAPT. I was impressed with how quickly things moved forward. From my initial phone assessment, all the way through to my last session, I was dealt with professionally and with kindness. My first sessions were low-intensity. Gia was very helpful and taught me a range of strategies to help manage my anxiety. She created a safe space where I was openly able to discuss my thoughts and feelings with her. Towards the end of the session, I disclosed some worrying behaviors and thoughts, which Gia rightfully recognized as part of OCD. I was then referred to the high intensity team, to target the OCD specifically, as opposed to general anxiety. Rashmeet was very kind and understanding. She also taught me a range of strategies which have helped me. I would recommended CBT sessions with Hounslow IAPT, to anyone who is considering. The sessions definitely changed my life. I think about what I have learnt everyday and try my hardest to apply it. I'm really glad that I took the initial step to reach out for help and I'm grateful for everyone who helped and supported me along the way. Both therapists were understanding, helpful and professional. As with everyone, I too still face challenges. I just feel better equipped to deal with them now. therapy has encouraged me to rationalize my thoughts and see things from a fair and balanced way, as opposed to allowing negative thoughts to take control of my life.
