"telephone and virtual consultations"

About: Belfast City Hospital / Rheumatology

(as a service user),

I had a telephone consultation with my Rheumatology consultant booked after being delayed for a year to pandemic. The call was booked for 11.15am and they said to keep an hour either side free as they might call earlier or later. I had cancelled all my activities between 10.15am and 12.15pm. The consultant rang at 9.45am so I missed the call as i was in a meeting. When I finally got through to their secretary I could only leave a voicemail and the secretary has not yet got back to me.

I understand that NHS is doing things very differently through tele consultations and virtual but I am disappointment that I have not yet received an answer from department and feel that at least a voicemail should be left with a number to contact when consultant does not get through first call

I can hear that you feel frustrated by the fact you were unable to speak to your consultant despite making the time available as you were asked to. I'm sorry that you didn't receive your consultation as you expected.
