About: Barnsley Hospital South Yorkshire Housing Association Limited / My Best Life Social Prescribing

I was an in patient at Barnsley Hospital briefly after my wife died last year. Through the Barnsley local Mental Health Team I have been helped by the Befriend service and am now benefiting from two weekly calls from a volunteer who I have been working with for five months. Initially it was having someone to talk to now she knows more about me we can cover subjects that are diverse and interesting to both of us without ever going into areas that are off limits or me loading her with my worries. This includes the music of Kate Bush. It would be good to know when Befriend will allow face to face visits or contact again we would both like this. This Befriend service has been easy to access and has been a lifeline for me.
